Land of blue ice.

My father and I rode a helicopter for a hike on the Mendenhall Glacier while he was visiting Juneau in mid-September, courtesy of North Star Trekking. Both us of consider the two hours we spent on the glacier and flying over the Juneau Icefield to be one of the highlights of our lives. If you ever get the chance, you MUST experience it. I could spend a month up there and never run short of inspiration–one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to.

Brooks NPPA Top 20 Show + Auction.

If anyone happens to be in the Southern California area on October 8th, swing by Brooks’ campus in Ventura and check out the Top 20 Week in Pictures Show + Auction hosted by the Brooks NPPA Student Chapter. My picture will be available for bidding (see promo postcard below).

I would be there except I’ll be in New York that day for the Eddie Adams Workshop, which is coming up fast.

Smokey skies came from fires up in the Yukon one week.

Do you think whales ever people watch? I do.
